What I hope to acheive from this class, is how to talk to people more. How to investigate, and how to learn to write better. I want to be a journalist when I grow up, so I'm hoping this class will help me learn how to do all these things. I'm looking forward to taking it. I'm hoping by the end of this class, I will have everything down that I need to know about writing and journalism.

Welcome, Amanda. I'm delighted to hear that you're considering a career in journalism. This is a great first step. I also encourage you to tour a newspaper and do a job shadow to learn more about the field. Most of all, I hope you work to get your stories published this semester so that you have writing clips that will benefit you later.
